learning & e-learning

The government has announced far-reaching proposals for a new e-learning strategy which will have significant implications for teaching and learning, from nursery through to adult education and CPD (continuing professional development). E-learning is often confused with distance learning, which suggests a disconnect between teachers and students and a lack of active and face-to-face collaboration. In Edumate™ the teacher-student relationship is vital, and information & communication technology is used to facilitate and enhance relationships further, between teacher/student, student/student, teacher/parent etc. Every school and every teacher has their own style of teaching, and each student has their own way of learning. Edumate™ promotes diversity in teaching by providing teachers with the tools they need to plan lessons & curricula, and provide resource materials appropriately. The system also empowers students to plan their learning, monitor their achievement and widen their skills & understanding. Lesson plans and assignments can be made available on-line, and students can submit their work and receive feedback from teachers.

A complete range of reporting functions is available through diagnostic, criterion referenced and outcomes-based assessment mechanisms, supporting both National Curriculum reporting and schools' own assessment methodology and pedagogy.
